Nationally award-winning Blunt Youth Radio is holding an Open House to identify new high school aged volunteers. The event takes place on Tuesday, November 27 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at WMPG, Southern Maine Community Radio, 92 Bedford Street, on the USM Portland Campus. The Open House happens during Blunt’s regular live Tuesday night broadcast. Visitors can see the live show, be interviewed on-air (if desired) and enjoy free pizza and root beer!

Current Natural Helpers-Please meet in ROOM 114 on Friday (11/30) for a mandatory team meeting during ACE.

Are you interested in traveling to our sister city in Russia? Have you wanted to travel the world and learn about other cultures? Our students have been invited to stay with families in Archangel, Russia for up to two weeks during April. Passport and plane fare required, approximately $3,000 total. If you are interested, please email Ms. Deveaux for more details.

Students should be checking their emails at least once a day. If you receive an email from Mr. Murphy, please be sure to reply to discuss attendance issues he has sent out.

Anyone interested in playing a Winter sport please go online to sign up @ You only need to sign up once each year so if you have previously signed up for a fall sport, you do not need to sign up again. Any questions please see Mrs. Wescott in the guidance office.

It’s not too late to sign up for Maine Model United Nations! The first meeting will be held on Thursday, November 29th at 2:45 in room 109. If you are interested in International Relations, politics, and countries around the world, come see Ms. Locke for information, or show up for the meeting on the 29th! See you there!


The Science Lab is open Tuesdays & Fridays from 2:30-4:00 in Ms. Keefe's room 205 for any science questions.

The Math Center is open Mondays & Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 in rooms 104 & 106. Please stop by if you need help or have any questions about your math homework.

English Tutoring is available Mondays & Thursdays from 2:30-4 in Room 323 with Mrs. Sbardella. Even if you just need a quiet place to study and/or do homework, please stop by...

Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: Are you interested in a career in nursing? Nursing has become very competitive major in college and the more you know now about the requirements the better you can be prepared. Ms. Troiano and Ms. Sturgis will be hosting a nursing information workshop during ACE on Tuesday 12/18 in Ms. Troiano's room. If you are interested please email Ms. Sturgis to request a tag.

Topics covered will include:

  • SAT, math and science requirements

  • Other testing required

  • Job shadow/volunteer

  • Medical Occupations at WRVC

  • And any other questions you may have.

Building hours for students are 7am to 2:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 7am to 1:30pm on Wednesdays. For safety reasons, no students should be in the building before or after that without a specific plan in place with an adult in the building who can supervise them. Please do not arrive at school before 7am, as it is getting cold out and we don't want you waiting outside. This is the same for after school pick-up. Please communicate these hours to your parents so you don't have to wait outside after school.

Interested in the military? The ASVAB test is a required test for the military and it will be offered at the high school for free on Wednesday, December 19. Any sophomore, junior or senior is eligible to take it. Space is limited. Send email to Mrs. Sturgis to be added the list.

SPECTRUM WHS' LGBT+ CLUB: We will be meeting on Thursdays from now on! All are welcome!

All students must park in the student lot & have a parking pass. Please stop by the Main Office to pick up the parking pass form. The cost is $6.00. Passes must be purchased each year.
