Sophomores: Because of the Thursday's snow day, the deadline for turning in your College Visit permission slips has been extended to Tuesday. Get those permission slips to your English teachers ASAP!
Seniors-Cap & Gown ordering will be on Monday, March 12, during ACE. The cost is $26.00.
Congrats to Nyagoa! She finished 3rd in elite high jump and 1st in emerging elite triple jump at the New Balance National High School Track and Field Meet in NY.
Congratulations goes out to Cameron Daye for winning 3rd place in the poster contest, and Pethuel Mutalenu for winning 2nd place in the video contest, both awarded from the Foreign Language Association of Maine.
The Jazz Ensemble received an Honorable Mention Award in a highly competitive - New England - based division with top jazz ensembles from many states. Winning judges awards for excellence were Emma Lombardo, Kim Do and Mikayla McClure-Carpenter!
The Jazz Band competed in the "B" Band room - against almost exclusively Top Bands from schools around the Northeast as well. THEY ALSO RECEIVED AN HONORABLE MENTION! This is unheard of in these events - having a "second band" be awarded honorable mention in such a competitive division!
In this band Rachel Richards and Mary Beck received judges awards for excellence!

Come see the WHS faculty take on the students in this year’s Staff/Student Basketball Game! It will be next Monday, March 12th at 6 o’clock in the gym. Tickets are $2 for students and $3 for adults.
"Current NHS Members: we are having a meeting during ACE on March 13th in the Auditorium to discuss upcoming events. The information being discussed is important, so please plan on attending (20-30 minutes tops). If you cannot make the meeting, please email Mr. Chabot prior to the meeting. Check the Google Classroom for the meeting minutes to see what was discussed."
All girls and boys interested in joining outdoor track & field please attend an informational meeting on Thursday, March 15th at 2:45 in the cafe.
March is Women's History Month. Join the Civil Rights Team on March 15th in wearing black for Women's Empowerment!
Seniors - there will be a job fair featuring local employers during ACE on Thursday, March 15. Grondin Construction, Cintas and Schlotterbeck & Foss will be in room 114 to meet with interested seniors. All are offering great pay and benefits. Ask Mrs. Sturgis for a tag. The U.S. Army will be at the high school during ACE on Tuesday, March 14. If you are interested in speaking with the Army recruiter please send Mrs. Sturgis a request for a tag.
For Juniors Only: The University of Maine (Orono) admissions representative will be at the high school on Monday, May 21 to meet with juniors one-on-one. Using your transcript and SAT scores, you will get a "pre-read" on your application and find out about merit scholarships and ways to improve your application. Are you taking the right classes next year for your major? Come meet with UMaine to learn more. Only 30 spots available. To save your spot email Mrs. Sturgis, Aspirations Coordinator.
All PM WRVC are expected to be in ACE every day until 10:50, at which time they will be dismissed from ACE to report directly to WRVC. Students who are not in ACE or leave early will be marked unexcused absent.
WHS' LGBT+ club will be meeting on Thursdays after school in Ms. Joyce's room – 108.
The Winter Dance will be held on Friday, March 23, from 7-10pm. Cost is $10. Tickets will be sold the week before. Dance forms must be turned in no later than Monday, March 19.
Students are required to purchase a parking pass for $6.00 in the Main Office to be eligible to park in the Student Lot at the high school. Students who do not have a parking pass will be ticketed. Students are not allowed to park in the teacher lot.
